Sadly it's our last full day in Chiang Mai and there is still lots to do.
Now Crossing the Road in Chiang Mai is an experience. When you first arrive all you see is a mass of vehicles coming at you, with no crossings. So what do you do! You take note of what other people do and copy them. It's a bit nerve wracking the first few times, but after that it comes naturally, or Rod's case he just follows me closely. You find a small gap in the traffic and just walk across. People just stop for you, or any way they don't run you over. You can always tell the new hats against the newbies.
It was a hot one today, you could tell the temperature and humidity had shot up.
We finished off the walk around Chiang Mai's temples this morning. We chose the four main ones. I can see that we will be completely templed out by the end of this trip, but they are beautiful.
In the afternoon we went for a short trip down the Ping River, stopping at a farm, having a plate of fruit and then coming back. A nice change from the city.
The difference in the houses along the way.
We strolled along to the Writers Club and Wine Bar, a famous bar here opened by a Brit foreign correspondent in the eighties. I had a very passable glass of white wine, before going back to the little restaurant we found last night and having a lovely Thai curry.
