Hoi An continued

Our hotel, The Lantana

Our hotel kindly threw in a couple of massages for us, and Rod being a bloke thought it too girlygirly, and luckily for me so I got both !  And very nice it was.

On the second day Rod decided that he needed a haircut.

So what to do whilst Rod is being clipped, ohh yes a leg and foot massage. It was heaven.

Hoi An is prone to flooding, but I hadn't realised just how much. Don't know if you can see this but it would have meant all the houses on the island being under water.

Dinner being sorted.

There are a number of bridges, houses and templea in the Old Town, and to see them you have to buy a pass. We saw six over the four days we were there, fascinating.

The most famous is the Japanese covered bridge. Takes you all of 15 seconds to walk across. Very pretty at night.

Tan My old house. 400 year old Japanese merchants home, still lived in by the same family. Beautiful inside, but very dark. The told us that during the last flood the water came up to the ceiling of the ground floor.

Quang Treu assembly hall

Nguyen Thong Family Chapel. The family of famous writers.

And lastly another assembly hall that was a freebie as we walked in from the side.

Dinner tonight was recommended by Kate, and a big thank you, we had a great dinner of the freshest fish going. Naff name but great restaurant.

The owners children watching cartoons on a mobile.
