On to Siem Reap

So it's goodbye time again. After breakfast we had a coach ride to Siem Reap. You could tell nobody wanted to leave the river. But up and on to the last adventure.

And of course us two, just to prove we were really there.

So now in Siem Reap.

Our hotel the Ladear seems nice.

It calls itself a boutique hotel, as they all do. What it actually means is that is has only twelve rooms and is up a side street.  But it will do us perfectly.  It is just over the river from the main part of the town about a 15 minute walk which is perfect. The only problem is that the stairs up to the first floor area steep, I have to come down them one at a time sideways. Anyone with mobility problems whould be in trouble.

We unpacked and had a chat with reception who have sorted a tuktuk, driver and guide for us for the next three days. Receptionist quite dozy so don't have much faith.. We'll see!

Walked into central Siem Reap in the evening for dinner. It's a little like Blackpool Asian style, or not very Asian style. Loud thumpy music coming from all the restaurants and bars, and burgers.  There is a night market on both sides of the river and walking by the rivers is all lit up and sparkelly.

We ate somewhere but can't remember, so it must have been unforgettable, but edible, had a beer and wandered back.
